Can you give a little more detail on the type of failure that you are having?
Failure to extract, failure to feed, what the cartridge is actually doing?
What manufacture and load of ammo?
Thanks,

you don't say if you cleaned the eagle, before it's maiden voyage. is it stove pipeing? is it not feeding the beast? jamming is alot of different things. so please inform us of what it seems to be doing. every 3rd or 4th round sounds like you might (and don't get mad). because i had to learn to. is you might be limp wristing it. i thought i was holding it solid, and i wasn't. i would have a jam every 2 or 3 rounds. first you need to clean and inspect every new platform new from box... to clean out the shavings and oil left over from manufacturing. and clean the gas ports. let us know what is happening? remember this is a different gun they any other. your hold is part of the recoil, as it states in the manual :detective.gif:

Jams that take place at specific round counts are typically due to the magazine in the DE. When you load a factory magazine, you'll notice that when holding the tip of he cartridge down, the angle of the cartridge changes with each round, usually starting more upward pointing and then pointing a tiny bit more down with each round. The Desert Eagle is right on the line for being able to handle this and very tiny differences from gun to gun can effect whether or not the gun will feed reliably, and if not, when in the round count it will start to have problems. The tips of the bullets even can have an effect.
There is a way to adapt the magazine to line each bullet up more uniform, but this is as much art as it is science. I am in the middle of something right now, but I will eventually put a tutorial on youtube showing how to make this adaptation. Do keep in mind that; while what you describe is usually due to the magazine, it's not the only cause.

Great post - Thanks!
It is not super unusual to get malfunctions in the early life of a DE. Part of this is break-in, part of this is finding the right the ammo, part is inadequate lubrication, the rest is miscellaneous...all of it is the DE being one hell of a complex machine. Be patient. The odds are that you will get it running -- just don't expect it to be as reliable as say an unmodified 9mm Glock or an older vintage Sig.
