I shot my DE 50 for the 2nd time today, for some reason every spent casing was ejected into my face. One went down my shirt, my buddy chipped his glasses. Is there something i can do to stop this?

And also, every time i shot, i had to flip the safety down and up again because the recoil was making the safety kick up and the trigger stayed locked towards the back of the gun until i hit the safety again. Is there any way to tighten the safety, or do i need to get new springs?

Thanks.

Getting shell casings ejected to the face and forehead is caused by the shooter not the pistol.

Did you read the pamphlet and DVD that shipped with your gun relating to proper shooting & operation.

Your issue with the safety I have never heard of.

It takes two thumbs and a toe just to operate the safety levers on all of my DE Pistols.

Sounds like you may have a problem in there.

Your limp wristing and or not locking your elbows out.

Remember, you do not shoot a Desert Eagle like some shoot a Magnum Revolver.

Try not to let the muzzle roll up to the sky.

If anything, the more you 'try to resist the recoil' the more reliable the DE will be and is how it was engineered.

When you allow it to roll up in the air ( along with letting your wrist twist ) your more prone to a jam & getting cartridges thrown towards your forehead.

Your learning on a hard caliber as well.

It's hard for a seasoned DE shooter to tame the 50.

If you had a 357 or 44 you would be able to see what I'm talking about your next time out.

The previous members\post is correct.

Use a farily tight grip and try to fight the recoil.

It sounds like the previous owner of your pistol finger fucked with the safety's.

It's not a good idea to mess in that area :dizzy:

i do have a 44 barrel for it, i can't believe how much easier it is with the 44 than the 50. With the 44, the spent brass lands in a semi neat pile around 5 oclock. Is the 50 just that much more gnarly??

just checked magnum research's website on how to shoot the DE, now i know how to stand and grip the pistol :D

also found out the 50 puts out 60% more energy than the 44, holy hell!!

It is!

When I bring my 50 DE to the range I always accompany it with my DE in 44.

For every magazine that I run out of the 50 AE I run six or seven mags out of the 44.

I just can't shoot more than a couple of consecutive mags out of the 50.

Within an hour you would be walking around shaking and flinching more than would after 12 rounds with Rocky Balboa :p
