Help dating .44mag d.e

anyone have any information on serial numbers on the early MK1 .44 MAG Desert Eagles? i emailed Mag Research and was told they had no info on guns with produced before 1987. apparently they guestimate mine was made in 1985-87, has mag dated 1-85 serial 18,5XX. MK1 hook less safety. has polygonal rifling. Mag Research told me the date on the mag doesnt mean anything as they are "mass produced and stored for years". you'd think they might be a little more affordable if they were so mas produced, eh vs. 45-70$ea? any info or help is appreciated. mail me @ chrism7770@hotmail.com if you would...

I have been looking to find out about mine as well.

you need to call and they will tell you mine was made in Jan of 2010... and its in the 1100 range
