Hello DE enthusiasts!
First off I am new here and back in the market for a DE. I had one years ago with NP3 finish. I used to go on a different DE board which I now forget the name of... anyways! This time around I want to get a 50AE and use it for big game hunting. I'm interested in getting a sturdy red dot for it. So far with just a little poking around I've got my heart set on a Trijicon RMR(Ruggedized Miniature Reflex)(Pictures Below). Is there a way I can properly mount this on a DE? Or should I be looking at a different category of optics. I really like Trijicon products and would like to stick with them if possible. Trijicon RMR: And just as a little extra, here is my late Israeli DE in .44 in Np3. Miss her dearly! ![]()

You have great taste, those sights are top of the line and would work exec!
Your DE photos are of the first Generation Mark 7. That model was phased out years ago, and it took more to mount an optic on one. All present Mk19 Desert Eagles have upgraded triggers, safety's, and better optic mounting options. They now come machined with two cross slots into the top of bbl rib for mounting your optic. When purchasing your glass, all you need do is to make certain that it will clamp onto a weaver type base and your good to go! Welcome to the Fourms! If you are interested in puchasing a new Desert Eagle, check out " The Specialist " He has almost every flavor of DE there is! LINK |

Hard Chrome, thanks for the response and the link. I will definitely have to browse through there. It looks like I have decided on an optic before which finish I want the actual DE in. Right now I am trying to decide between getting a standard black oxide and sending it off to robar for NP3, or just getting a factory brushed chrome. On my old Mark 7, the NP3 was the difference between a barely functioning pistol and a flawless one. From what I hear I shouldn't have too much to worry about with a new model .50 in whichever finish, but I had so much luck with the NP3 I am reluctant not to go that route again with a new one. Any more tips before I "Pull the trigger"? Thanks guys

Nice pics of the MK 7! I agree, your taste is exellent for those red dots. While your shopping, also check out budsguns.com, their pricing is some of the best I've found. when I bought my DE44, I found a local gun store that was able to order me one for those low internet prices.

Bud's sometimes has the best price, and I purchased from him once, a Colt 6920.
It took better than a week to ship it, otherwise good. I purchased a DE from the Specialist, it was shipped the same day, and speaking of the shipping he doesn't charge any which can run better than $50.00 by air with insurance on a DE. Nice Gun! |
